We are currently seeking donations for the funding to continue The Griot in Me Project. This year, we were successful in creating a centralized place for resources, information, and networks; building an archive that is Black Canadian centered. We were also able to facilitate a mentorship program for Black youth to learn about archiving, history preservation, heritage pride and community to continue collecting, digitizing, and sharing important information.
Because our funding with the government was for one year to launch this idea and see if it was something the Black community in the National Capital Region needed, we’re kindly asking for your assistance. We need your donations to keep up with the demand of videos, organizing of new collections and upkeep of material. For more information please contact us.
Thank you for supporting The Griot in Me!
